Panatang Makabayan: Naalaala n’yo kay?

There was a time in our lives when we were kids and citizenship duty was on top of the list every time we go to school each morning. How things have changed and how “occupied” the lives of our children are.  Below is “Panatang Makabayan” which we dutifully recite after singing the Philippine National Anthem. We kept it close to our hearts and was always proud.  How far have we gone?  Please share your thoughts with us at the bottom of this post.

PAMATANG MAKABAYAN

Iniibig ko ang Pilipinas.
Ito ang aking lupang sinilangan.
Ito ang tahanan ng aking lahi.
Ako’y kanyang kinukupkop at tinutulungan,
Upang maging malakas, maligaya at kapakipakinabang.
