The Social Hall of the Olde St. Augustine’s Church was renamed as the “Matthew Carr Hall” in honor of the great Fr. Matthew Carr, O.S.A. the first pastor of the church; who pioneered and laid the foundation of what is now known as the Augustinian Order based in the Americas.
Fr. Bill Waters, pastor of St. Augustine’s, alongside with other Augustinians notably Frs. Walter Quinn, Joe Mostardi, Jim McBurney, Paul Morrissey, Anthony Burrascano, Tom Pohto and Wilson Capellan; dedicated and blessed the portrait of Fr. Matthew Carr which was fittingly unveiled with the assistance of Dr. Lita Manguba to the cheers of the adoring congregation.
A beautiful program followed the dedication and a sumptuous meal was prepared by the men and women leaders of OSAC.
OSAC choir director Kim Barroso, Cheslea Turner, cantor and Allan Monroe, violinist thrilled the crowd and congregation with their rendition of “The Prayer”.
The OSAC Choir also rendered two heartwarming songs. The MUTYA dancers performed two beautiful numbers. (Photos: Philip Reyes & Alice Manguba).
