La Salle University of Philadelphia confered upon Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, September 18, the degree of Doctor of Humane Letters, Honoris Causa. The ceremony was held at Dan Rodden Theater, La Salle Student Union at 1900 W. Olney Avenue, Philadelphia.
A convocation will followed at 6 PM. Prominent Filipino leaders from our area attended the ceremony.This event was sponsored by Diplomat in Residence program and Religion Department of La Salle University.

About Cardinal Tagle
Luis Antonio Gokim Tagle, born June 21, 1957, is a Roman Catholic Filipino cardinal, the 32nd Archbishop of Manila, Cardinal-Priest of the titular church of San Felice da Cantalice a Centecelle. He was made a cardinal by Pope Benedict XVI in a papal consistory on November 24, 2012 at Saint Peter’s Basilica in Vatican City. Cardinal Tagle is currently a member of the Congregation for Catholic Education, Congregation of the Evangelization of Peoples, Pontifical Council for the Family, Pontifical Council for the Pastoral Care of Migrants and Itinerant People, Congregation for Institutes of Consecrated Life and Societies of Consecrated Life, Pontifical Council for the Laity and the XIII Ordinary Council of the Secretariat General of the Synod of Bishops. He was also confirmed by Pope Francis as President of the Catholic Biblical Federation on March 5, 2015. On May 14, 2015, he was elected President of the Caritas Internationalis. And on July 12 he was appointed as member to the Pontifical Council Cor Unum for Human and Christian Development.
