The Holiday mood is truly in the air! I am sure that many of you have planned your holidays starting with Thanksgiving and very soon Christmas!
Our beloved choir conductor Kim Barroso celebrated his 10th year with St. Augustine’s Church and marked the occasion with a concert dubbed as “A Piano concert in Thanksgiving”. Held last Sunday, congregants were entertained with some of Kim’s performance, opening with “impromptu in E Flat Minor, Op 90 No.2 by Franz Schubert.
Fr. Bill Waters, pastor of OSAC welcomed guests and friends. After the concert, light refreshments followed at the Matthew Carr Hall; lovingly prepared by the OSAC Choir. Thanks to all who volunteered to help.
Kim is no stranger to stages and venues in the region from Carnegie Hall to the Lincoln Center in New York City and Kimmel Center and the Mann Center, in Philadelphia. The OSAC Choir is truly blessed to have him.
To all of you who showed your support to the Asian Federation of United States, my thanks! The federation is an organization represented by Asian countries and the event coincided also with the retirement of Philadelphia Police Commissioner Charles Ramsey. (Slideshow above)
Congratulations to the Kayumanggi Society of Philadelphia (KSOP) and their Outstanding Parents of the Year 2015 Jaime and Marietta Paz. I really enjoyed the event and meeting and making new friends.
