Dr. Jose B. Chatto, 1942 – 2017

Jose B. Chatto, M.D., served the State medical field for 25 yrs., age 74 yrs of Berlin passed away on Saturday, June 3rd, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was the founder and first president of the Cebu Association of America (CAUSA). He also served as Vice President of the Filipino Executive Council of Greater Philadelphia.

He is predeceased by his parents, Eng. Vicente and Filomena Chatto, RN (nee Bernaldez).

He is survived by his beloved wife, Mela L. Chatto, RN, BSN (nee Ligan); loving daughter, Janice Boyle and her husband Brian; granddaughter, Alyssa Boyle, a student at Drexel University majoring in Business and Marketing and his sister-in-law, Myrna M. Ligan, a renowned International Concert Pianist.

Relatives and friends are invited to Jose’s viewing on Thursday, June 8th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at LeRoy P. Wooster Funeral Home, 441 White Horse Pike, Atco, NJ. A Mass of Christian burial will take place on Friday, June 9th at 10am at Christ the Redeemer Parish (Assumption Church), 318 Carl Hasselhan Drive, Atco, NJ. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery, Cedar Brook.

Earlier this year we also said goodbye to two other community leaders in our area: Dr. Alex Almario, past president of FASSJ and Mr. Jose Magana, past president of the FECGP.
