Every year, in the month of June FECGP celebrates the Grand Independence Ball as the culmination of a week long observance of Philippine Independence. This coincides with the celebrations in the homeland: the Philippines whose independence is celebrated every year on June 12.
The event is also bolstered by a Mayoral Proclamation which reminds all of the citizens of the City of Philadelphia of the many contributions that FIlipino_Americans have done to the city. Pinoys are equally proud of Philadelphia, the “City of Brotherly Love” and the City mentioned in the Book of Revelation in the Bible.
