Dear Mrs. Aczon and Philippine Council of Philadelphia,
We want to thank you so very much for your generous gift of $1,000 to the Philippine Disaster Relief Fund through your member, International Bible Church. What a huge blessing that is. As you can imagine from the devastation, the relief is ongoing still. This letter, from our friends in Tacloban, tells of just one aspect of the relief. Initially the fund gave food and water and immediate needs, including medical. Around 100 churches are in various stages of repair. Now we are also focusing on some livelihood projects, such as building fishing boats and giving fishing nets so that people will be reached with the Gospel of Christ as they are helped in practical ways. Many lost their livelihood because they no longer had a way to fish.
We do really appreciate your help. We are always touched by Filipinos who want to help their fellow Filipinos in times of need. May the Lord richly bless you for it.
